At MéXplore, we’re getting excited — the whale shark season in La Paz is almost here! Each year, these gentle giants return to the Bay of La Paz, and swimming alongside them is one of the most unforgettable experiences you can have in Baja California Sur.

This year, we’re expecting the season to begin toward the end of November, and there’s good reason to believe it might be a promising one. Thanks to the generous rainy season we’ve had in La Paz, nutrient-rich waters are attracting more plankton — the favorite food of whale sharks. This often means higher chances of spotting these magnificent creatures up close.

That said, nature always has the final word. Whale sharks are wild animals, and there is no official information that can predict exactly when they’ll arrive or how many will stay in the bay. Part of the magic is waiting for that moment when the first gentle giants appear.

👉 Stay tuned: We’ll be sharing updates as soon as the first whale sharks are confirmed in the bay. In the meantime, feel free to contact us to reserve your spot early — whale shark tours are one of the most popular adventures in La Paz!
